South
of the border, alongside mountains,
desert and sea, Ensenada offers a warm
and wonderful introduction to Mexico.
The oldest community on the Baja
Peninsula, it was first visited by
Spanish missionaries in the 17th
century. Today it's a thriving seaport.
Ensenada's breezy climate invites
exploration, shopping for colorful
handicrafts, dining on delectable
seafood, viewing the wonderful Gold
Coast.

Areas of Interest
|
 |
|
Los Angeles
Sprawling between the San Bernardino
Mountains and the Pacific, Los
Angeles is quintessential
California, and one of the most
wildly creative places around.
Whether your tastes run to
extravagant Beverly Hills, the
mega-entertainment of Hollywood,
great art museums or mouth-watering
Mexican food on Olvera Street, Los
Angeles has something for everyone.
|
 |
|
Ensenada,
Mexico
Home to Mexico's finest vineyards
and "la bufadora", a sea geyser that
spouts a stream of salt water more
than 60 feet into the air, Ensenada
is popular with both
viniculturalists and ecotourists
alike. Toast the glory of Mexico in
the birthplace of the Margarita.
Gaze upon gray whales that winter
here, and understand why Spanish
explorers named it "ensenada de
todos santos" (inlet of all the
saints.)

What to Pack
|
 |
Days
onboard are casual and you'll be most
comfortable in sport clothes and resort
wear. Shoes should be low-heeled for
deck activities. Bring a few swimsuits
so you'll always have a dry one. You
don't have to bring towels, as they are
provided. And don't forget your camera
and binoculars, so you don't miss a
thing.
For evening wear, count on three basic
types of attire:
 |
Formal: Eveining wear or Dresses
for women, tuxedo or suits for
men |
 |
Smart Casual: Dresses or
pantsuits for women, jackets for
men |
Ashore, you'll need comfortable walking
shoes as well as a hat and sunscreen for
protection from the sun. |
